Project Manager Construction Training Program Description:

This program is designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in construction project management. The program will provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully manage construction projects from start to finish. Topics covered in the program include project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to sit for the Project Management Institute’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam.


Construction Project Manager Training Course Outline:

1. Introduction to Construction Project Management:

This course will provide students with an overview of the construction project management profession. Students will learn about the various roles and responsibilities of a construction project manager, as well as the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in this field. The course will also introduce students to the construction project life cycle, and cover topics such as project scoping, feasibility studies, and site selection.

2. Construction Planning and Scheduling:

In this course, students will learn about the importance of planning and scheduling in construction project management. Topics covered include work breakdown structures, activity networks, critical path analysis, and resource leveling. Students will also gain hands-on experience creating and updating project schedules using Microsoft Project software.

3. Construction Budgeting

This program is offered in both online and classroom formats. Classroom instruction takes place at our main campus in Seattle, WA. Online instruction is delivered through our distance learning platform. The program can be completed in as little as 12 months, or take up to 2 years depending on the course schedule that you choose.

4. Construction Risk Management:

In this course, students will learn about the various risks that can impact a construction project, and how to effectively manage them. Topics covered include risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies. Students will also gain an understanding of insurance coverages relevant to construction projects, and learn about the claims process in the event of an accident or loss.

5. Project closeout and Commissioning:

This course covers the final stage of a construction project, from project closeout through to commissioning. Students will learn about punch list completion, turnover procedures, and warranty management. The course will also cover the commissioning process for new construction projects, and touch on topics such as systems testing and training.
